10 Thoughts On… The Celebrity Apprentice – Episode 4 & 5 Review

10 Thoughts, Reviews, Top Story

1. After watch tonight’s Celebrity Apprentice episodes, I was initially quite shocked by the fact that the men were successful in a photo spread challenge for Cosmopolitan. The magazine caters to a female audience and I thought that Team Vortex was in tough. That said, Geraldo’s idea to use Selfies was genius and once they had that, it was pretty much a steal (pun intended) for Johnny Damon and company.

2. I am not sure if The Celebrity Apprentice was the right vehicle for Jamie Anderson. The Olympic gold medalist seemed too nice on a show that makes no apologies for celebrating the ridiculous. Anderson’s decision not to bring Brandi Glanville was instrumental in Mr. Trump deciding to fire her (without even really giving her a chance to defend herself), but ultimately it was her failure to stick with a singular concept that did her in.

3. That scene of a shirtless Geraldo doing curls while still wearing his dress shoes is something that I never thought I would ever see. Actually, writing the preceding sentence is something that I never thought I would do either.

4. After being so heavily featured in last week’s episode, Vivica was a non-entity in this week’s pair of episodes. Perhaps the editors want to spread the love and simply focus on that week’s project managers, but it was still strange to see a person who was so heavily focused upon last week completely ignored this week.

5. Johnny Damon couldn’t have picked a better task to manage. His team did all of the work and he got all of the credit. That is the best-case scenario on The Apprentice.

6. With that said, for the second episode… I was stunned that the teams have already been switched. I am known for being a conspiracy theorist, but it’s interesting that Kevin Jonas (a known rival of Geraldo’s) was fired when he went up against the former Talk Show host and now Ian (Geraldo’s second rival), was switched to an opposite just prior to a fundraising task where it was likely that Rivera would once again assume PM duties. Did Geraldo not want to work with Ian or was it just a case of coincidental switch timing? Hmm…

7. You have to respect Ian for having the guts to go against Geraldo in a fundraising task. I don’t think any of the others would have stepped up to do it.

8. I am pleased Ian allowed reason and rationale to win over her personal distaste for Geraldo by not risking the incredible amount of money he raised in an all-or-nothing gamble. With that said, Geraldo now has a perfect 2-0 record as PM and that will make him very difficult to beat in any potential finale.

9. With that said, it’s interesting that Terrell’s brilliant slogan for the Cosmo task made no impact on Trump choosing to get rid of him in the next one. Perhaps prior achievements don’t mean as much this season because if they do, I really don’t see how Geraldo can lose.

10. The team division is interesting. Initially I thought the new Infinity got the short end of the stick with Kenya and Brandi ending up on the same team and their in-fighting destroying team morale. On second glance, however, since they both want to best each other, this might actually fuel their team into doing well. In addition, the new Infinity also has Leeza who is my pick to win the entire show. Over on the Vortex side of things, I feel like Vivica, Sig and Kate will cause problems for Geraldo down the line. We’ll see.
