JR Blog: Lucha Underground Rumors, WWE Royal Rumble/Wrestlemania 31 Predictions, Vince McMahon’s Brass Ring

News

Jim Ross checked in with a new Friday blog, here are some highlights:

on reports of him negotiating with Lucha Underground
Word on the internet that I’m “negotiating” wit Lucha Underground which isn’t accurate whatsoever. I enjoy their show but I’ve had zero contact with any one there except Chris DeJoseph, who taped an upcoming Ross Report Podcast, (drops March 24) and Matt Striker who I worked with at Wrestle Kingdom 9. What a difference RAW is when they have their full compliment of talents available to them. I enjoyed all the chaos at the WWE Title Bout contract signing for the Royal Rumble main event featuring Lesnar vs Cena vs Rollins. This bout is unpredictable to me which adds to its marketability and appeal. I’m still thinking something big and/or quasi unexpected will happen in this match.

on Royal Rumble winner
I’ve waffled on the winner of the Rumble match itself several times, perhaps I should have been a professional politician, but my latest ‘gut feeling’ is that Daniel Bryan takes home the WM31 main event spot.

The Rumble much needs a little more steam IE momentum for my taste.

on Wrestlemania 31
Could it be Bryan vs. Rollins or even Lesnar at WM31?

If the rumors of Undertaker returning to WM31 to face Bray Wyatt are true, then it helps Wyatt amazingly well even if Bray loses. I have no info verifying his match but it’s making the rounds online.

on Vince McMahon’s Brass Ring
Been asked this a lot lately while doing media for my upcoming one man shows, do I agree with Vince McMahon’s take on talents being more motivated to ‘grab the brass ring?’ Absolutely. To me, WWE is a team with a locker room full of players wanting and needing more quality minutes which leads to more income. One has to break a few eggs to make a great omlet so to some WWE talents, get to cooking! What do you have to lose? A job that you are apparently not satisfied with doing? How can anyone be content to be just “one of the boys.”
