CB’s Slant: Meet Seth Rollins, Top Heel in WWE

Columns, Top Story

While Brock Lesnar is still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and The Authority is back in power, it is time to acknowledge Seth Rollins as the absolute Top Heel in WWE. Rollins does all of the house shows (I personally saw him carry the live event I went to in December), he is The Authority’s chosen one as far as “the Future of WWE,” and Rollins has delivered solid performance after solid performance both in the ring and on the mic. As Dean Ambrose struggles with WWE Creative booking and Roman Reigns regresses with elementary promos, Seth Rollins has emerged and arrived and thrived in the post-Shield era of his career.

And, well, on Thursday Night SmackDown this week, Rollins proved once again how far he has come. The below exchange with Paul Heyman was perfectly executed by Seth Rollins, and I really appreciate not only the cadence in his promos but the way he really does make the audience feel uncomfortable or angry.

From where I sit, Seth Rollins leaves me in awe and I appreciate his unpredictability as well as his ring work.

For everyone who hates The Authority coming back and despises Brock Lesnar being an absentee champion, let me say this: If the end result is Seth Rollins becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at the 2015 Royal Rumble or WrestleMania XXXI, is that really all that bad?

That’s all from me — CB.
