In a tweet that Bryan Singer sent out last night, he announced that Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner and Tye Sheridan will suit up for X-Men: Apocalypse, the next installment in the mutant superhero franchise at 20th Century Fox.
Shipp, who previously appeared in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel and will be seen in Straight Outta Compton this year, will play Storm, Turner (Game of Thrones) is Jean Grey, and Tye Sheridan (of Tree of Life and Take Shelter) will be Cyclops.
This casting news comes a few months after Oscar Isaac (A Most Violent Year) was cast as the title villain. Singer is back as director, having helmed X-Men, X2: X-Men United and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Meet our new and brilliant young mutants: @Alexshipppp as #Storm @SophieT as #JeanGrey and @TyeSheridan as #Cyclops.
