CB’s World: 5 2015 WWE Royal Rumble PPV Results that Would Make Me Happy on the Road to WWE WrestleMania XXXI

Columns, Top Story

With the 2015 WWE Royal Rumble set to air tomorrow night in Philadelphia on Sunday 1/25/15, there has been much debate over who should win the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, as well as which of these three man — Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins or John Cena — should head into the main event of WrestleMania XXXI as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Below are 5 possible Royal Rumble results or scenarios that would me happy as we kick off the Road to WrestleMania. Four of the five outcomes outlined below are ranked in order of my own personal preference, and the final prediction is going to be my longshot pick that likely has no chance of happening.

Here. We. Go…

CB’s World: 5 Royal Rumble Results that Would Make Me Happy on the Road to WrestleMania XXXI

Scenario 1: Daniel Bryan wins the Royal Rumble and Brock Lesnar retains the title. Seth Rollins does NOT cash in at the Royal Rumble.

In this prediction, I get exactly what I want. Bryan wins the Rumble, maybe even from the #1 spot to prove once again how he can overcome the odds and everything else The Authority throws in his way. Brock Lesnar then retains the title and we head into WrestleMania 31 with a Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar storyline that practically writes itself. The Bryan-Lesnar-Heyman dynamic would be fun to watch, and the promos/build would be intense to watch.

Then, at WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan defeats Brock Lesnar, and for the first time in WWE history, Seth Rollins cashes in and beats Daniel Bryan to leave Mania as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. This can then lead to an incredible Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins feud, where you know the matches would be some of the best of the year.

Scenario 2: Daniel Bryan wins the Royal Rumble and Brock Lesnar retains the title. Seth Rollins then cashes in and beats Brock Lesnar to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

This is similar to Scenario 1, but speeds up the process to give Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins top billing at WrestleMania XXXI. The only question would be what WWE would do with Brock Lesnar, unless of course it is The Undertaker who returns at the Royal Rumble to confront Lesnar, which leads to Rollins cashing in. A Lesnar-Taker rematch might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but at least it would make sense and keep the continuity proper going into WrestleMania.

Scenario 3: In a little bit of a surprise, Dean Ambrose wins the Royal Rumble after it comes down to him vs. Roman Reigns. Brock Lesnar retains the title, and Seth Rollins does not cash in.

On Raw the next night, The Authority books Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE title, saying the WrestleMania main event is going to happen TONIGHT. Dean Ambrose then pins Brock Lesnar and becomes the WWE World Heavyweight Champion after an intense battle, only for Seth Rollins to cash in on Ambrose and take the title on Raw.

This ultimately leads to THE SHIELD TRIPLE THREAT – Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania XXXI, with Lesnar again becoming distracted/involved with The Undertaker at some point.

Scenario 4: Roman Reigns wins the Royal Rumble and Brock Lesnar retains the title. Seth Rollins does not cash in.

This sets up Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar as your WrestleMania XXXI main event, with Seth Rollins lurking. Reigns pins Lesnar to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and Rollins cashes in. However, Rollins then LOSES anyway, and Roman Reigns stands tall at WrestleMania XXXI as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion who vanquished Brock Lesnar and thwarted Seth Rollins in the same night. This would also send the crowd home happy, so to speak, and Rollins can then feud with Reigns anyway over the title after Mania.

LONGSHOT PICK / Scenario 5: Damien Mizdow wins the Royal Rumble and John Cena wins the WWE World Title. Seth Rollins cashes in but loses because, dare I say it, John Cena turns heel and reveals he has joined The Authority. Therefore, Triple H and Stephanie turn their backs on Rollins.

This sets up John Cena vs. Damien Sandow as the main event of WrestleMania XXXI, with Sandow vowing revenge for how Cena nearly destroyed his career by beating him with one arm and heel Cena mocking Sandow as a joke and nothing more than an afterthought, a comedy routine, etc. Sandow slowly builds momentum on the Road to WrestleMania, collecting anti-Authority allies and planting seeds along the way, and at WrestleMania 31, against all odds, Damien Sandow beats John Cena and becomes the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Hey, I said it was a LONGSHOT, right? Right.

Well, there you have it, five scenarios for your to chew on this weekend before Sunday’s big show.

No matter what happens at the Royal Rumble, I am sure there will be plenty to write about and discuss across the various live results, reactions and follow-up columns right here on Pulse Wrestling.
