Along with 13 other classic Marvel Comics events revisited as part of Marvel’s multiverse shattering Secret Wars opus, and its multi-tiered publishing plan, comes word that number 14 is on the way with classix X-Men event: INFERNO! Spoilers follow with the news.

INFERNO

Writer Dennis Hopeless and artist Javier Garron brings readers 2015’s Inferno where the X-Men didn’t beats the odds a la their 1989 same-named event. Newsrama spoke to the Hopless who describes the 2015 version as: “Colossus is a man obsessed. In his mind, nothing in the world is more important than rescuing his sister from the Inferno. This mission has consumed his entire life for years now. He’s failed four times and is going back in for another round… On the flip side of that, Illyana has been living all these years as Darkchylde, the all-evil all-powerful badass ruler of the Inferno. That little girl lost routine was a lifetime ago and her brother’s noble quest is laughable.”

Marvel describes the classic 1989 X-Men Inferno as: “The demon-sorcerer N’astirh not only wished to rule Limbo, but Earth as well. He conceived of a plot to kidnap 13 human babies in order to sacrifice them in a ritual known as Inferno. Using the babies’ energy, he opened a portal between Limbo and Earth, which grew unnaturally hot and people began to succumb to their evil desires. Inferno had begun.”
