Marvel unveiled a new Battleworld map with forty-four (44) titles that will be part of Secret Wars 2015.
As of last we formally knew of thirty-nine (39) titles and their creative teams.
As of the beginning of yesterday we last learned of an additional three (3) series and their creative teams.
That meant that we knew of forty-two (42) series with two (2) to go. Well, we now know what the final series of Secret Wars 2015, but it does leave us with questions.
The last two series are:
- Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows – Written by Dan Slott with art by Adam Kubert.
- 1602: Witchfinder Angela – Written by Kieron Gillen and Marguerite Bennett with art by Sana Amanat.
However, that means that only ten of the previously announced thirteen event redux series will be part of Secret Wars as Avengers: Civil War, X-Men: House of M and X-Men: Age of Apocalypse are MIA from the forty-four series count.
Some of have speculated that more series, or a second wave of titles, will be launched during Secret Wars. Isn’t a more plausible answer that Marvel just changed their minds and wanted less event series redux in the mix?
The current Battleword map, with forty-four titles / slots. I imagine Marvel will update this quickly.
