Miesha Tate Says She Is Still The Only Woman Who Can Beat Ronda Rousey

While Ronda Rousey has been focusing on beating just about anyone who Dana White puts in front of her, it appears an old rival might be back in the picture.

Miesha Tate will meet Jessica Eye and it is presumed that the winner of that match will get a shot at Ronda Rousey (presuming the bantamweight champion defeats Bethe Correia at UFC 190).

In a recent media scrum, Tate predicted that Correia will be unsuccessful and that she is the only one who will be able to dethrone Rousey.

“I think everyone knows that if anyone is gonna beat Ronda, it’s going to be me,” Tate said.

The challenger who was unsuccessful in her last two fights against Rousey says that she has been working on a strategy that will center around not making the same mistakes.

“Don’t do what Cat Zingano did,” Tate said. “Don’t rush forward. I think you have to force Ronda into a different pace. She’s used to being able to dictate whatever pace, whether it’s faster or slower. So I think you have to push Ronda out of whatever pace she wants to be in. Push her into the second round, push her into the third round.

“She uses so much energy in that first round. I think she really slows a lot as the time goes. She’s used to going out there and putting 110 percent to finish the fight. If she can’t do that, it seems like she starts to fade.”
