JR Blog: Cena-Neville match, TNA Impact Missed Opportunity, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan

News

Jim Ross checked in with a mid-week blog, here are YOUR highlights:

on Daniel Bryan
Solid Daniel Bryan interview where he unfortunately had to relinquish the Intercontinental Title. I’m just guessing here but I would not be surprised if DB didn’t have concussion issues but it certainly could be a neck issue as many speculate. I don’t know his diagnosis but I do that his health is his most important commodity and if he’s essentially done with his career it will be ill timed, as are all career ending injuries, but Daniel Bryan is the type of individual that any wrestling company should want to associate with and he can help WWE in a variety of ways. Hopefully Daniel Bryan can get a clean bill of health to resume his career but he will have to change some of the things he does in the ring whether he likes it or not and embrace the ‘less is more’ philosophy of in ring, bell to bell activity.

on Dean Ambrose
Enjoyed the renewed focus on Dean Ambrose who’s been slipping off the radar much like Bray Wyatt. Who gets advanced Sunday when Wyatt faces Ryback? I’d love to be surprised at how this match performs. Both talents are keepers in any event.

on TNA Impact Missed Opportunity
Thought TNA Impact missed a rare opportunity Friday night on their live broadcast to feature what they do best and that is to wrestle. The show had too much talk for my taste but I also realize that I am not in their target demo. Do today’s fans really want long, promo segments where the same thing can be accomplished in a much more succinct fashion? It’s the old, ‘tell me what time it is and not how to make the watch’ theory. I’m still pulling for this group to succeed in a big way.

on Cena-Neville match
Thought the Cena-Neville match was stout. Lots of good things accomplished in the match most importantly giving the Brit a great ‘rub’ from WWE’s top star. Great example of sound, logical booking that helps all involved.
