Tonight is the much anticipated Money in the Bank 2015 PPV for WWE. It features a host of matches including the MITB Contract Ladder Match that determines the #1 contender (well instant #1 contender whenever contract is cashed in) for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
That match includes the following WWE superstars vying for the WWE World Heavyweight Title contract briefcase:
- Neville
- Sheamus
- Randy Ordton
- Roman Reigns
- Kane
- Dolph Ziggler
- Kofi Kingston
So, when WWE.com issues a piece on the 5 most likely superstars to be the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion, before the big Money in the Bank 2015 PPV, it’s work noting. With that, who were the 5 WWE superstars they featured? Were they 5 of the 7 MITB 2015 contract ladder match contenders? Nope. Not totally:
- John Cena
- Brock Lesnar
- Dolph Ziggler
- Roman Reigns
- Dean Ambrose
Now, Dean Ambrose is the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match versus current champ Seth Rollins in the Money in the Bank 2015 PPV. So his addition makes some sense to this list as he could walk out of MITB 2015 as champ since he’s in a match with that strap / belt up for grabs.
Plus we know Brock Lesnar is coming back soon so seeding him makes sense. My feeling is that he will show up to set up his next feud at either the end of the Money in the Bank contract ladder match to lay out the winner or at the end of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match.
John Cena is the face of WWE, but my hope is that isn’t WWE World Heavyweight Champion anytime soon; it’s been done.
So that means that only 2 WWE superstars to pay attention to in the contract ladder match are Dolph Ziggler and Roman Reigns? Hell, the graphic for this article shows Roman Reigns with the WWE World Heavyweight Chmapionship strap / belt.

Listen, I do think the match will likely come down to those 2 guys, but come on; doesn’t that just put Dolph Ziggler in Daniel Bryan’s spot as fan fave and Roman Reigns steal that guy’s “spot” due to WWE exec shoving RR down fans’ throats? Roman Reigns will not win fans over if its him and Dolph in the end battling for the briefcase. Even if its not these 2 playing a big role against each other in the end, these 2 will be the ones to watch.
This is such an odd piece for WWE.com to run before a major PPV like MITB 2015 particularly when it doesn’t even showcase at least 3 to 4 of the other contract ladder match participants.
So, some combo of Roman Reigns, Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose will most likely be the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion if not tonight.
It certainly seems that WWE.com accidentally spoiled the outcome of the MITB contract ladder match in their article. It also certainly shows a huge amount of disrespect and signals the disinterest in WWE management for 5 of the 7 Money in the Bank 2015 contract ladder match participants as well.
