Complete WWE Thursday Night Smackdown Taping Results for 07/16/2015 [Spoilers]

News

What’s up for Smackdown this week? Here are the results taped for Smackdown on July 14, 2015 to air on July 16, 2015:

Roman Reigns entered to a huge pop. He had a sparing promo with Bray Wyatt via Titantron. The crowd was abuzz during the segment.

1. New Day defeated The Lucha Dragons. The Prime Time Players were commentary. Good reactions for both teams. “New Day sucks!” chants are very over. Xavier Woods’ antics crack up anybody within earshot. New Day went over, then cut a promo on PTP at ringside. They dispersed when confronted.

2. Bad News Barrett over Jack Swagger. A short match to set up Barrett’s promo with R-Truth. Solid reaction for both, if a bit tepid.

3. Cesaro defeated Rusev. Great heat for both men, nice match to follow. Huge pop for Cesaro’s win. The crowd got into it with a lot of “U-S-A” and Cesaro chants, which seemed to delight him. The only true match on the card, at this point.

4. Neville over Stardust. We got a cool comic book-style video package recapping their match from Raw. Stardust continued to react to “Cody!” chants. Neville went over fast. Blink and you missed it. I’m guessing these guys get a match at the Battleground PPV.

A recap of the “Diva Revolution” led to a backstage promo with Sasha Banks, Naomi, and Tamina. It seemed like they announced their stable as “BAD” – Best At Domination, or something to that effect. The crowd paid attention and reacted accordingly.

5. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns beat Sheamus and Big Show by DQ. Fun main event. Loudest pops of the night go to Roman and Ambrose, great heel heat for Sheamus and Big Show – especially for Show. The crowd was totally into it. It’s very interesting watching Reigns become more comfortable post-WrestleMania main event. His confidence and enthusiasm really came off well here and helped his performance. Reigns and Ambrose won via DQ from Bray Wyatt’s surprise interference. Loud reaction to Wyatt in the flesh, as well.

3. Bray Wyatt (for his live appearance alone)
4. Cesaro
5. The “Divas Revolution” recap and promo
