And I’m back for the fourth day of the G1 Glimax and the second day of competition for B Block.

Tomohiro Ishii defeated Yujiro Takahashi in 12:17 via pinfall. Good night for Takahashi, despite his loss. His girlfriend provided the entertainment pre-match and Ishii carried him towards a good match overall. Both actually managed to make him look entertaining. Ishii will be a rather solid roadblock for the favorites.

Satoshi Kojima defeated Michael Elgin in 12:49 via pinfall. The expected big moves contest, crowd was into this and both worked hard. Kojima’s Lariat looks as impressive as ever. Goob job from both.

Karl Anderson defeated Hirooki Goto in 11:34 via pinfall. Anderson continues to impress. After beating frmer IC champion Nakamura, he now defeats the current champion. An Anderson singles run is now inevitable as he will have reason to challenge Goto for the IC belt. The finish was awesome with Goto’s Shouten Kai reversed into the Gun Stun. Very good outing between those two.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Yugi Nagata in 16:26 via pinfall. Another good match despite some sloppy spots here and there. Nagata fought hard but there was no way Nakamura would lose two in a row.

Kazuchik Okada defeated Tomoaki Honma in 17:51 via pinfall. For those who still doubt Honma, watch this one. Him and Okada had great chemistry and delivered an intense, heated and excellent match-up. Honma even managed to turn the crow in his favor. While facing Okada! Truly great stuff. When Honma finally wins one and he surely will this year) the crowd is gonna explode. Fantastic main event!

Standings:

Kazuchika Okada           4
Karl Anderson                4
Tomohiro Ishii               4
Shinsuke nakamura      2
Yugi Nagata                    2
Satoshi kojima               2
Hirooki Goto                  2
Tomoaki Honma           0
Michael Elgin                 0
Yujiro Takahashi           0

Analysis: The story in b Block thus far is Anderson’s run. He’s clearly being positioned as the wild-card, and he seems to enjoy reminding everybody how good he can be in singles competition. Ishii is clearly being positioned as strongly as possible before his upcoming battles against fellow CHAOS members Nakamura and Okada. It’s great to see Kojima do well also. Honma’s popularity is reaching amazing levels and his performances are as strong as ever. To put things into perspective he just took the current IWGP world Champion to the limit. Next day in B Block hosts Goto vs Honma, Ishii vs Anderson, Nakamura vs Elgin and Okada vs Kojima. Can’t wait.

In other results:

A.J. Styles and Bad Luck Fale defeated Kota Ibushi and Jay White. (Fale pinned White)

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Katsuyori Shibata and Ryusuke Taguchi defeated Tetsuya Naito, Togi Makabe and Yohei Komatsu. (Taguchi pinned Komatsu)

Tomorrow is Day 5 and we go back to A block for the following matches:

Doc Gallows vs. Bad Luck Fale
Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Toru Yano
Togi Makabe vs Katsuyori Shibata
AJ Styles vs Kota Ibushi
Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tetsuya Naito

First battle between Bullet Club members, will not be a good match but might be interesting to see if they tease signs of tensions inside the stable. Tenzan and Shibata should defeat their respective opponents, but the two big matches are Styles/Ibushi and Tanahashi/Naito. Styles and Tanahashi are undefeated until now, can Ibushi and/or Naito change that?

More G1 tomorrow.
