Scream Factory uncovers both Tales From the Crypt features before Halloween

Disc Announcements

Back when HBO was mainly known for running obscure movies in the afternoon, original programming was a novelty. They had Dream On and the football show that will never be rerun since it starred O.J. Simpson. The channel’s unexpected hit involved a suave, charismatic and decaying host. Tales From the Crypt brought horror without network censors to the little screen. The Crypt Keeper would introduce stories that starred major stars made by famous directors. The small show had to go big eventually and thus two feature films were released to all of the people of the world whether they had HBO or not. Tales From the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight – Collector’s Edition and Tales From the Crypt Presents: Bordello of Blood – Collector’s Edition give the Scream Factory treatment to the Crypt Keeper’s cinematic double feature. Here’s the press release from Scream Factory:

TALES FROM THE CRYPT PRESENTS: DEMON KNIGHT
A mysterious drifter known as Brayker (William Sadler) possesses the last of seven ancient keys that hold the power to stop the forces of darkness and protect all humanity from ultimate evil. But the human race is safe only so long as Brayker can evade the demonic Collector (Billy Zane) who has gathered the other six keys.

In his obsessive quest for the key, the Collector rallies an army of ghastly cadavers against Brayker and the inhabitants of a run-down hotel. Armed with automatic weapons, sacred blood and sadistic humor, Brayker and the strong-willed Jeryline (Jada Pinkett-Smith) must lead the other guests in a gruesome battle against the Collector and his evil horde of ghouls.
