MGM to Reboot ‘Road House’ Starring Ronda Rousey

As reported in Variety, the UFC juggernaut Ronda Rousey will star in the reboot of the 1989 cult classic movie Road House originally starring the late Patrick Swayze.

Before agreeing to do the movie, Rousey reached out to Swayze’s widow, Lisa Niemi, who gladly approved of Ronda doing the movie.

Rousey previously had a minor role in Furious 7 and, as expected, her acting was limited at best but with this being the 4th movie that’s Ronda has signed on to star in (My Fight/Your Fight, The Athena Project, and her biopic Mile 22) we’re hoping she’ll have plenty of practice before she takes the reigns of such an established movie. Road House might actually be very well suited for Rousey, it doesn’t call for much acting chops and relies heavily on action, which Ronda is more than well equipped to handle.

No word on the expected release date of the new Road House.
