NJPW World Tag league 2015 Day 8

News, Results

Three more matches to review today and here they are:

A Block – Manabu Nakanishi and Yuji Nagata defeated Toru Yano and Kazushi Sakuraba in 10:09 via pinfall:

Nagata and Sakuraba did their best but with the virtually immobile Nakanishi and a Toru Yano who didn’t really have anyone to play with, their efforts were doomed from the start. For the rest, they kinda went through the motions until Sakuraba tried to lock on a sleeper on Nagata only to get countered by a roll up. Instantly forgettable.

B Block – Satoshi Kojima and Hiroyoshi Tenzan  defeated Katsuyori Shibata and Hirooki Goto in 11:30 via pinfall:

The crowd was hot here, firmly behind TenKoji, helping make this one a rather entertaining outing. Solid work from both teams, Shibata and Kojima, in particular had some very heated exchanges. Good back and forth, the end came when Kojima caught Shibata with a lariat. First loss for Shibata and Goto during this tournament and TenKoji is now just behind them with four points. Both teams have two more matches to go.

B Block – Tomohiro Ishii and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Tetsuya Naito and Evil in 16:21 via pinfall:

Took them a while to get going, but once they did this was a lot of fun. Evil and Ishii had some entertaining exchanges, especially towards the end. Los Ingobernables’ dirty tactics backfired when Ishii countered BUSHI’s green mist spot with an head-butt. That was fun. Lariat from Ishii, Boma Yé from Nakamura and Brainbuster from Ishii finally got the better of EVIL. Good stuff overall but could (should?) have been better if they had not been half asleep during the first half of the match.

I've been following wrestling for almost 30 years now, and the metal scene for even longer. And let's just say that all that head-banging has left me with some weird ideas that i will share with you from time to time. Aren't you glad?
