The audio commentary has been an industry staple for so long on DVDs and Blu-rays that it is often overlooked despite the amount of information and insight they contain. Granted, the enjoyment factor is mostly about the participants involved and information shared, yet commentaries are a bonus rarely included on WWE Home Video releases. Hall of Famer Mick Foley contributed four tracks to the 2007 release of Mick Foley: Greatest Hits & Misses (Hardcore Edition). And through the years the alternate commentaries has been an added bonus with participants sharing stories from the squared circle. It is a feature that more WWE titles should implement, even as a way to have current superstars express memories of a classic match.
As it stands, WWE has a three-disc compilation release highlighting flagship television programs Monday Night Raw and SmackDown on the calendar for February 9, 2016. The Best of Raw & SmackDown 2015 will be a DVD only release that will include matches involving such WWE personalities as Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, The New Day, John Cena and his U.S. Open Challenge, and more.
Currently, the content for the first two discs has been revealed over at Wrestling DVD Network, including the news that some of the matches will have alternate commentaries by WWE superstars. Read on.
