Earlier this week, NJPW stripped Shinsuke Nakamura of his Intercontinental title. This, added to the fact that Nakamura’s contract will expire in only a few weeks further fueled the rumors of Nakamura being on the verge of signing with WWE.
Several sources now report that Nakamura will be traveling to the United States in February to begin working out for a few weeks at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.
According to the same sources, Nakamura will also be undergoing the mandatory medical tests, likely in Pittsburgh, and pending the results of these tests, could then be clear to sign with WWE.
