Pentagon Junior: “I still have deep, deep hate [for Vampiro]” – The Tag Rope February 2016

Pentagon 2

Pentagon Junior just appeared in an interview in a recent post by the pro wrestling magazine, The Tag Rope.  Some cool highlights are below and the complete interview is in the link!

Regarding Pentagon breaking the arm of current Lucha Underground Champion Mil Muertes during the Lucha Underground season premiere, Pentagon said: “I don’t care what the repercussions are.  I have no fear and I’ll take anyone on.  That could be Mil Muertes, that could be whoever stands in my way.  I really don’t care.”

Pentagon is also liking the new darkness that has befallen the Temple – and that it “favors” him.  “I definitely think it favors me because Pentagon Jr. is a dark being.  What’s more, for the second season, I’m coming back even darker and meaner than the first one.  It’s definitely to my advantage.”

However, inevitably, Vampiro and Pentagon’s feud with him in Season 1 came up during the interview.  Pentagon said: “Vampiro is … a marker in my career because meeting … a world legend really signifies where my career is.  Vampiro has taught me a lot and guided me through the process a lot, but even with all that mentorship I still have deep, deep hate for him.  I wanted to know who my master was and Vampiro was at the right place at the right time.  I knew that deep down inside, knowing the specific monster he was not only the Lucha Underground world, but the lucha and wrestling world altogether, I knew if I wanted to become that same beast and have that same goal, I needed to face him.”  Whoa.  Guess we’ll find out if the feud will continue in Season 2.

Vampiro came up again when Pentagon was asked about his influences and idol wrestlers throughout the years.  He also mentioned Konnan and Blue Demon Jr.  “Coming here and not only seeing them, but being able to work with them, in particular having to save Vampiro?” Pentagon said. “That was to me, like breaking my childhood dream because I looked up to him so much, but I knew it was also going to make my dream career happen.”

Pentagon was also asked if his future plans involved WWE, to which he responded: “As far as the monster that is the WWE, I’ve never been approached or met anyone that’s worked with them, but I won’t rule out the opportunity if at any point Lucha Underground stopped existing and they become interested in me.  I’m here to work and face anyone I can.”  On one hand, seeing Pentagon Junior in WWE would be absolutely unreal – but on the other, I don’t think any of us want to see LU shut down.  For now, we can dream.

Some other topics discussed in the interview include when and how Pentagon was first approached about LU, his opinion on and experience in LU (all positive, of course), LU‘s success, the meaning behind his name and Cero Miedo, his history with fellow luchador Fenix, and much more.

Don’t forget – a new episode of LU airs on El Rey Network this Wednesday at 8 P.M. EST!
