“Dr. Lucha” Steve Sims was on Wrestling Observer Live recently, and he stated that Rey Mysterio will no longer continue his contract with Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) due to the large series of paychecks the company owes him.  Sims also mentioned that Mysterio is experiencing some health issues, and that it’s also affecting his working relationship with and future appearances for the company.

If Mysterio were to return to WWE, Sims believes it will be for the annual SummerSlam pay-per-view this year.

However, it sounds like the back pay AAA owes Mysterio is the bigger issue.  Mysterio shouldn’t be wrestling if his health is on the line, but perhaps AAA demanded more appearances and matches from him and he’s simply not in good enough condition to be on a rigorous schedule – though if that were the case, it’d be best for him not to wrestle at all and recover until he can, so perhaps whatever Mysterio is experiencing is only temporary.
