Former Undefeated UFC Champion Ronda Rousey Considered Suicide

News, Top Story

Former Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey appeared on “Ellen” today to promote her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover but the interview took a turned dark when Rousey revealed that she contemplated suicide following her loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193.

“Honestly, my thought I was like, in the medical room and I was down in the corner. I was sitting in the corner like, What am I anymore if I’m not this? And I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second. “I’m like I’m nothing, what do I do anymore and no one gives a sh*t about me anymore without this.”

It was only when Rousey saw her current boyfriend Travis Browne that she became optimistic about her future.

“To be honest I looked up and I saw my man [UFC fighter Travis Browne] was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies I need to stay alive. Really that was it. Everyone has their moment of picking themselves up off the floor, and I’ve had to before, but nobody’s ever seen me go through that before. Maybe that’s what I’m meant for. I believe I’m still undefeated, because being defeated is a choice. Everyone has losses in their life, but I choose to be undefeated.”
