Kevin Owens on WWE Wrestlemania 32, Daniel Bryan, Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker

News

Kevin Owens recently spoke with Michael Jones of DC 101 (transcriptwrestlinginc.com), here are the highlights…

On making a WrestleMania promise while he was in New Orleans at WrestleMania 30: “I bought a ticket to WrestleMania 30 because I was in town for another wrestling company at the time, while I was still on the independents. I promised myself this would be the last time I would buy a ticket for WrestleMania, that the next time I would be at a WrestleMania in person is because WWE itself would bring me there because I was working for them. A year later it came true because I was at WrestleMania 31 as an NXT Superstar and now two years later I’m going to be on the show defending the Intercontinental Title so it’s a pretty good feeling!”

On Daniel Bryan always treating with respect: “From the moment he met me on the independent scene when I was just, for lack of better terms, just a dumb kid starting out, trying to learn how things work in this industry, he was a well respected top guy and he didn’t have to be nice to me. Plenty of people back then weren’t nice to me but he was. In his position, he didn’t need to go out of his way to be nice to the younger kids and the guys coming up but he was and that was something I always appreciated as much as all the incredible matches he put on for fans all over the world.”

On wishing he could have wrestled Daniel Bryan more: “I didn’t have the chance to be in the ring with him as much as I wish because I feel like he’s someone I could have learned a lot from. He is someone I learned a lot from just from watching and listening to outside of the ring, but I wish I could have shared the ring with him many more times than I had the chance to.”

On Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania: “Shane McMahon has done some really insane things when he wasn’t in as high profile a match as this one, so I can’t imagine what he’ll be ready to do or go through at WrestleMania, but you’re right about WrestleMania being synonymous with The Undertaker. You’ve got two guys that will be ready to leave it all in that cell.”
