DC Comics Rebirth Spoilers: Superman’s Rebirth Begins 2 Months Early With Peter Tomasi’s Super League! Plus DC Rebirth’s Superwoman Debuts Early!

News, Spoilers, Top Story

DC Comics is billing the last “Superman Family” titles arc of the New 52 / DC You era as changing Superman’s status quo.

“It’s the start of a new chapter in the Man of Steel’s life that will change everything you know as the epic eight-part “Super League,” all written by Peter J. Tomasi, spans BATMAN/SUPERMAN, SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN and ACTION COMICS in April and May!”

Considering we will see that the New 52 Superman replaced in Rebirth, does that switcheroo begin here?

Writer Peter J. Tomasi went even farther when describing Super League’s connection to DC Rebirth and beyond.

“…when we get to Rebirth and beyond, it’s all tied in together. These issues in April and May are just massive, epic, and are changing so much. April and May are not a closed-in story.”

“It blows out. It goes even further as we move through the course of the year.”

“I wish I could say more about “Super League.” I don’t want to pull any threads in our discussion, because I’m afraid it will unravel.”

“But I can say that we have some really big stuff planned for this story that haa massive ramifications moving into Rebirth.”

During Wondercon 2016 it was revealed that the character Superwoman, who will have her own monthly DC Rebirth series, will debut during Super League before Rebirth.

In addition, while it has not been confirmed, it is likely that the Asian New Super-Man may also debut during the Super League arc as DC Comics’ trinity tangles with China’s Great 10 super-hero team during the arc.
