DC Comics’ Green Lanterns Corps gets the DC Rebirth treatment with twice monthly Green Lanterns series starting with Green Lanterns #1, twice monthly Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps starting with a #1, and Justice League #1 that features Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz, the GLs of the Green Lanterns Rebirth series (full DC Rebirth checklist here).
Green Lanterns writer, formerly Marvel Comics exclusive, Sam Humphries revealed the status quo of the earth-borne Green Lanterns: Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz as DC Comics Rebirth begins.

Here’s how Green Lanterns writer Sam Humphries described the series and its two leads: Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz:
- Yes! Green Lanterns. I’m glad you enunciated the “S” cause that’s what this book is all about. The plural. There are two new Green Lanterns of Earth. These are the Green Lanterns of Earth, Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz. And I’ve been calling it “Lethal Weapon with alien technology.”
He also comments on Simon’s and Jessica’s places in the Justice League:
- They may be rookies, but they are going to be involved in the very heart of the DC Universe moving forward. There’s one big thing that we teased to today that I don’t even want to say the name of it out loud. There’s one big thing coming after Rebirth that’s gonna rock the DC Universe, and Simon and Jessica are gonna be front and center for what’s going on. So yes, they’re in Green Lanterns, yes they’re in Justice League. They’re gonna be in all the major things that are happening in the DC Universe. Yes, these are the Green Lanterns of Earth. It’s gonna be an amazing experience.
During Wondercon 2016, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps artist Ethan Van Sciver revealed that Hal Jordan was at the heart of that series with the other Earth borne Green Lanterns as co-stars.
It wasn’t clear if characters like John Stewart, Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner would be featured in all issues or their roles were confined to arc-based ones.
