DC Comics Rebirth (full DC Rebirth checklist here) is coming and we know there are big status quos changes for the Superman Family. It all starts with the last DC New 52 Superman Family series arc called Super League. It includes the debut of a New Super-Man and of a Superwoman both of which get their own DC Rebirth series.

DC Comics has released a new cover for New Super-Man #1 as well as indicated the secret identity of the character has been changed to Kenan Kong. DC Comics official statement is here.

In part 2 of Super League, in the pages of Batman / Superman #31, we learn how sick Superman is and what he needs Batman’s help to do.
Superman is terminal, dying. He wants top Batman’s help to fine Supergirl.
A touching moment with Batman’s confidante Alfred Pennyworth thanks the New 52 Superman for his good deeds.
The fiery Superman-like being we saw in Part 1 of Super League rears his / its head. Is this the being that will give the New Super-Man or Superwoman their powers?
This being seems to have a life of its own and uses unwitting human hosts.
Superman is made to bleed in battle and he heals slowly. However, Batman has tracked Supergirl down to National City, the same city the TV Supergirl resides in.
And, we finally see where Supergirl has been for the last several months.
She’s been trapped in National City.

Part 3 of Super League hits stands this week in the pages of Action Comics #51.
BTW, DC Comics FINALLY fixed that John Romita Jr. (JRJR) Superman mistake in the final variant cover for Action Comics #51 (second one below featuring pre-Flashpoint Superman and the New 52 Superman).
Looks like the energey based Superman parasite is masquerading as Clark Kent at the Daily Planet while the New 52 Superman takes a “found” Supergirl to his Fortress of Solitude.
