Wrestling Ratings Report 04.24.2016: Raw dips, TNA, Lucha Underground Tick Upwards, Total Divas Finale Lower than Expected

Every week, the Inside Pulse Wrestling Ratings Report takes a look at the latest TV ratings for all major wrestling shows in the United States. For each show, the latest ratings are analyzed, and compared with the last 5 and 10 week trends.

It was a pretty rough week for wrestling show ratings. Raw saw another drop from last week, and is teetering on the lowest ratings since the 90s.

TNA saw a slight increase, as did Lucha Undeground.

But both Total Divas and American Grit had lower viewership that last week.

WWE Monday Night Raw

The show did a 2.31 rating and 3,322,000 viewers. Overall viewers were down 5.7 percent from last week.

The first hour did 3,486,000 viewers. The second hour did 3,541,000 viewers. But the third hour dropped to 2,980,000 viewers.

WWE Thursday Night Smackdown

Smackdown saw slight upward bump in the ratings this week. Thursday’s episode brought in 2.431 million viewers and a 0.73 rating, up 4% and 3% from last week’s 2.335 million and 0.71 demo rating. The viewership was still a touch down from the 2.444 million who tuned in two weeks ago, though the demo rating was the best since a 0.75 on March 24th.

TNA Tuesday Night Impact

TNA saw a rise in viewers and ratings this week. Last night’s episode brought in 312,000 viewers and a 0.1 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic. Those numbers are up 9% and a tenth from last week’s 286,000 and 0.09, and represent the highest numbers for the show since the March 29th episode hit the same numbers in both metrics.

Impact ranked at #109 among cable originals for the night.

Lucha Underground Season 2

Lucha Underground saw an uptick in viewership this week. Wednesday’s episode brought in 149,000 viewers and a 0.05 in the 18 – 49 demographic, up 7% and a tenth from last week’s 139,000 and 0.04. The viewership is still below the 156,000 that the show scored two weeks ago, but the demo rating is the best since the March 30th episode also hit a 0.05.

Total Divas

The season five finale of Total Divas gave up some viewers but rose in the demo rating from last week. Tuesday’s episode brought in 625,000 viewers and a 0.31 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic. Those numbers are down 1% and up 7% respectively from 632,000 and a 0.29 for the first part of the season finale last week. The viewership was the lowest since the March 30th episode scored 563,000 while the rating was still down from the 0.33 from two weeks ago.

The second episode of John Cena’s FOX series American Grit brought in a 1.4 rating with a 2 share. This is down from last week’s premiere (1.5/2).

Actual viewership was 2.17 million viewers, according to TVBytheNumbers.

For the second consecutive week, the show was down more than 2.0 million viewers from the lead-in.
