Spoilers and review follow for Batman / Superman #32 and the continuation of the”Final Days of Superman” aka “Super-League” arc.
This is New 52 Superman’s swan song as in DC Comics Rebirth, the pre-Flashpoint family man Superman, his wife Lois Lane and son Jonathan become the Superman Family of the core comics.
Batman / Superman #32 opens with the Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman being downed by the Great Ten in China on their way to find out why someone there is emanating Superman’s power signature.
The obligatory battle ensues and we get to see the August General in Iron’s face for the first time I think.
The parties stand down and agree to cooperate to determine why someone is emanating Superman’s power signature.
The Doctor who will be part of the New Super-Man series reveals that they have a functioning viable super-human with Superman-like power who won’t simply die off in a day or so like his predecessors.
We get our first good look at the New Super-Man too.
Although he does escape as the Doctor has freed him than risk capture by the Great Ten or DC Comics’ Trinity.
Meanwhile in Metropolis, the seeds are being sown for the New 52’s Lois Lane to become Superwoman…
…as the energy being Superman, who I assume will somehow have his powers transferred to Lois Lane, confronts her still thinking he is the New 52 Superman and Clark Kent.
Finally we had a lots of movement on the DC Comics Rebirth front for the New Super-Man and Superwoman in Batman / Superman #32!
