Here is a quick look at some highlights on the shelves this week. A few new Image series return from hiatus, a checklist of Rebirth titles are included at the bottom of the page, plus a stack of new TPBs and HCs, so without further ado let’s dive in…

New This Week:

Hellboy in Hell 10Hellboy in Hell #10 – I seem to be finding conflicting reports as to whether this issue will be the last Hellboy story chronologically (meaning other stories will be written that take place before this), the last HB story Mignola will be writing, or the last HB ever. Whatever the situation may be, this is a big issue for Hellboy and Mignola-verse fans as Hellboy in Hell comes to an end.

Casanova: Acedia #5 – Back from hiatus for its first issue since September, the second arc kicks off this week! A series like no other, along with it’s many arcs, this is one I love to read and reread again and again.

Paper Girls #6 – Also returning from hiatus and beginning its second arc. There isn’t any of Vaughan’s work I haven’t liked. Despite the kind of travelling and action the girls have gone through so far, it’s a relatively calmer story, compared to say Saga or Y: The Last Man, which I find a nice change of pace.

Civil War II 1Civil War II #1 – The gloves are off as Captain Marvel’s side goes up against Iron Man’s side! A follow-up to the epic original Civil War (and certainly pushed along by the recent Captain America film) watch all your favorite Marvel heroes fight against one another in this year’s blockbuster summer event!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Pink #1 – Coming fresh off the success of the recent Power Rangers flagship series and drawing closer to the impending film (out next year), Pink is just the first in a new line of mini-series focused on the individual Rangers. Already creating a lot of buzz, this is one series you may need to fill the nostalgic young heart in you. It’s morphin’ time!

Doctor Fate 13Doctor Fate #13 – I’ve said it many times, and I’ll probably say it a few more, I’m very happy to see this series returning. While the DCYou imprint can’t really be described as successful, this was one series that shined, in my opinion. I’m glad to see this series will be running on for awhile at least. If you haven’t been reading it, now may be a good time to jump on pick up the TPB for Vol. 1 The Blood Price. (and just look at that Tony Harris cover! Wow.)

The Shadow: The Death of Margo Lane #1 – I enjoyed Matt Wagner’s “Grendel vs. The Shadow” and this promises to be a good follow-up. I don’t know if this story immediately follows the events of GvS, but the fact that Matt Wagner is writing and drawing means I’m in.

A few other issues to look forward to:

A-Force #6, Batman Beyond #13, Control #1, DC Comics Bombshells #14, Deadly Class #21, Injustice: Gods Among Us Year Five #11, TMNT: Bebop & Rocksteady Destroy Everything #1, The Walking Dead #155

Collected Editions and OGNs:

I Hate Fairyland CB TPBBuffy, The High School Years: Freaks and Geeks OGN – Returning way back to Season 1 era of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, this book focuses on unseen adventures about everyone’s favorite blonde vamp-killing badass.

Art Ops Vol. 1 TPB – A very original series from Shaun Simon and Michael Allred, this story shows classic characters from the world’s most famous art free from their paintings and set loose around the world. The art police must collect and return them before the unthinkable happens!

I Hate Fairyland Coloring Book TPB – The adult coloring book craze has been coming to comics in recent months, and next up is what may be the most hilarious offering from it. A twisted and grown-up take on kids fairy tales is the perfect model for adults into coloring. I just might have to get this myself.

Rebirth:

Last week saw the beginning of Rebirth with the Special one-shot, and now we begin the one-shots leading into the regular series. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s out this week.

Superman RebirthBatman: Rebirth #1 – If you know me, you know I’m picking up all the Bat-books, but I have to say, based on the writing team, the flagship series isn’t the one I’m most looking forward to. I am excited, though, and we’ll see where it goes.

Green Arrow: Rebirth #1 – Another I’m not super-excited for, given that I didn’t care much for Percy’s run on the last stretch of the New 52, but I’m always willing to give a #1 a chance.

Green Lanterns: Rebirth #1 – Two GL rookies, Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz, will be watching over Earth. Personally, I’m not familiar with these characters so I’m waiting for Green Lantern Corps in July, but I also haven’t been keeping up with any Green Lanterns recently.

Superman: Rebirth #1 – Now, this is one I’m very excited for! I thought Tomasi was great writing Batman and Robin so it will be interesting to see him take on Superman and son too.

Up next week: Aquaman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman!
