WWE has a huge Monday Night Raw set for tonight at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA!
Here is the WWE.com top story:
The lead-up to the anticipated SummerSlam clash between Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar pitted Raw and SmackDown Live against each other in a whole new way this past week. After The Viper invaded Monday night’s hottest show to attack The Beast, Lesnar retaliated against WWE’s Apex Predator the following night and put Team Blue on notice. Now, Raw General Manager Mick Foley has invited SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan to Monday night’s hottest show for what’s sure to be an eventful meeting. Will the competition between Team Red and Team Blue stay friendly for long?
The build to Summerslam is beginning to kick into high gear with less than 2 weeks until the huge event. With the Randy Orton vs. Brock Lesnar remaining as a cross-brand match, each appeared on the opposite show last week to the shagrin of the GM/Comissioner combos on each show. To get things straightened out, Mick Foley has invited Daniel Bryan to Raw and get to the bottom of things. Somehow I think this will lead to even further issues! We shall see.
Sasha Banks and Charlotte are headed for a rematch for the WWE Womens Title at Summerslam, and after last week’s mixed tag team match, the rivalry contines to heat up. The next chapter in their escalation heading towards Brooklyn will occur tonight on Raw.
Meanwhile in the background, WWE is building up Nia Jax as a monster heel in the Women’s division, scoring two big squash wins in her first two weeks on Raw. That huge push continues tonight on Raw, with Nia looking to move into the title picture this fall.
WWE will crown the first ever WWE Universal Champion at Summerslam, in a match between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. They had their first back and forth promo segment last week, and Rollins took on Sami Zayn in the main even that also ended up having Finn get involved. This week the tensions between these two men will continue to escalate, and they are expected to carry multiple segments heading into their title showdown at Summerslam.
The Club – Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson – took a loss to the New Day last week, but administered a brutal beat down after the match, a brawl that left Big E injured and stretechered out of the building. These two teams seem headed for a Tag Team Title showdown at Summerslam, and this could be a way of cutting out the New Day’s powerhouse heading into the match. Big E’s storyline injury status, as well as the Tag Team Title situation should be cleared up on Raw.
Chris Jericho made an enemy in the team of Enzo Amore and Big Cass on Raw last week, and appeared to have no backup. However, the Prize Fighter Kevin Owens stepped up backstage, saying he had Jericho’s back. This is headed for a tag team match as soon as on Raw, maybe on Summerslam. But there could be more to this storyline as well – does Owens really have Jericho’s back? Or could this be leading to a program between the two? Two of WWE’s best promos should get the chance to shine on the mic and possibly in the ring this week on Raw.
It’s hard to believe that it’s only been a few weeks, but Braun Strowman seems totally divorced from the Wyatt Family gimmick and on a monster path similar to dozens of others in WWE history. He will continue his dominance on Raw tonight
Plus Puff Daddy aka P Diddy returns to WWE! Should be at least one segment of pure garbage involving Sean Combs!
All this plus Jinder Mahal, Rusev and Lana with the US Title, the Golden Truth search for Pokemon and much more!
Here is WWE’s Quick Hits Preview:
- What does Mick Foley have in store for Daniel Bryan? What will The Hardcore Legend have to say to The “Yes!” Man now that the rivalry between The Viper and The Anomaly brought chaos to both brands?
- What does Sean ‘Puff Daddy’ Combs have in store for Raw? What will Puff Daddy have to say when he shows up to Raw?
- Is Sasha Banks’ dream coming to an end? Charlotte would take great pleasure in continuing to humiliate Sasha in the weeks leading up to The Biggest Event of the Summer
- Will Seth Rollins need to rethink his strategy?
- Is Big E out of action? It remains to be seen whether the WWE Tag Team Champions are officially down a member, as little is known about Big E’s condition at this time, but Anderson & Gallows certainly evened the odds as they continue to eye The New Day’s titles.
- Does Kevin Owens truly have Chris Jericho’s back? Now that “The Best in the World at What He Does” has acquired some backup against Enzo Amore & Big Cass, how will “The Realest Guys in the Room” respond?
