WWE has an all new Monday Night Raw tonight from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX.

The show will be built around crowning the new, and only second-ever, WWE Universal Champion.

Due to injury, Finn Balor had to vacate the title last week on Raw, and after 4 qualifying matches, a fatal four way was booked for this week’s Raw.

Here is the WWE.com top story:
One week after Finn Bálor was forced to relinquish the WWE Universal Championship due to a shoulder injury at the hands of Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, The Architect will clash with Roman Reigns, Big Cass and Kevin Owens in a Fatal 4-Way Match for the vacant title on Raw. Who will leave Raw with Team Red’s flagship title?

The big news is that Roman Reigns vs. Big Cass vs. Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins will be for the Universal Title.

With Sasha Banks injured and on the shelf for the indefinite future, Mick Foley brought Bayley out on Monday Night Raw last week for her official main roster promotion. Bayley was entered immediately into the top of the picture, with a long promo segment with Foley as well as Charlotte. These two women seem on a collission course for the WWE Women’s Title, although I’m sure there will be obstacles put in Bayley’s way. The next chapter of Bayley’s main roster journey unfolds tonight on Raw.

The tag team champions – the New Day – were able to successfully fend off the Club and keep hold of the titles for over 1 year. Gallows & Anderson responded by attacking the Dudleys on their final Raw (for now) and seem on a rampage. What is next for both teams?

Elsewhere in the Women’s Division, Nia Jax continues her reign of dominance. She has been plowing through lady jobbers for weeks, and seems ready to move to something more. Could she start a new program with another top woman on the Raw roster? Or will she continue to squash jobbers – we’ll find out on Raw.

Speaking of a string of squashes, Braun Strowman has effectively broken free of Bray Wyatt’s spell and reinvented himself as a solo winning machine on Raw – at least over jobbers so far. Strowman has beaten all of the local talent to a pulp on a monster streak. Like Jax, he could do more squashes, or could be moved into a storyline of some sort as soon as tonight on Raw.

Here is the WWE.com quick hits preview for Raw:

  1. Who will claim the WWE Universal Title? In the biggest Raw main event of the New Era, Roman Reigns, Big Cass, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens will battle it out for the WWE Universal Championship, which was vacated by the injured Finn Bálor this past Monday night
  2. What team will Gallows & Anderson target next? Will another tandem suffer the same fate as The Dudley Boyz this Monday night?
  3. Is Bayley poised to wrap her arms around the WWE Women’s Championship? Is a title match in the cards for these friends-turned-rivals?
  4. Can Braun Strowman be stopped? Will this hopeful grappler find success where others have failed, or will he be mangled like the rest?
