WWE has an all new Monday Night Raw going up against Monday Night Football.

At Backlash last night, AJ Styles won the WWE Title from Dean Ambrose. However, that is Smackdown, so the followup will have to wait until Tuesday.

Instead, the focus is on Kevin Owens and his reign as WWE Universal Champion. He is set to face off against Roman Reigns on Raw.

WWE.com on the match
Kevin Owens is set to defend his WWE Universal Title against Seth Rollins at WWE Clash of Champions, but first he’ll have to contend with Roman Reigns on Raw. And if The Big Dog wins, that anticipated championship bout becomes a Triple Threat Match! Is The Prizefighter prepared for what lies ahead?

Owens won the title when Triple H pedigreed both Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. However, on the Raw last week, HHH was not seen, and instead Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley were left to explain the situation. They ultimately booked Owens to defend against Seth Rollins, but Roman Reigns also wanted in. So this week Reigns will take on Owens, and if he wins, Reigns gets added to the Raw title match at Clash of the Champions to make it a 3 way match.

Sasha Banks returned to Raw last week and gave a promo that led fans to believe she was retiring. However it was all a swerve and instead Banks is back on the hunt for the WWE Women’s Title. If Banks gets her rematch against Charlotte, it looks like it could be at the Clash PPV.

But where does Bayley fit in? Bayley defeated Charlotte in a one on one match on Raw, setting her up as a Title contender as well.

The Best of 7 series between Cesaro and Sheamus saw the Irishman go up 3-0 on the Swiss superstar. But then Cesaro picked up a victory in a London house show to make it 3-1. Now on Raw, the fifth match of the series will take place, and it could be a win for Sheamus to end the series, or a victory by Cesaro to extend to a Match 6.

There have been a number of wrestlers on a roll taking on jobbers. Braun Strowman and Nia Jax have been taking on local jabronis for a few weeks. And just last week Bo Dallas was re-introduced with a bit of a harder edge and a win over a local jobber. All three are expected to be on the show and wrestling, with Jax closest to a real program against Alicia Fox.

Here is the WWE.com Quick Hits Preview

  1. Fight, Reigns, Fight. Additionally, one has to imagine that Seth Rollins will be watching this match closely, as it could transform a traditional one-on-one battle at Clash of Champions into a far more chaotic three-man melee
  2. Charlotte fights a war on two fronts. Are Charlotte’s days as Raw Women’s Champion numbered?
  3. Cesaro and Sheamus battle in Match No. 5 of Best of Seven Series. Will Cesaro’s momentum save him from elimination on Monday, or will the imposing Irishman win the series at 4-1?
  4. Are the fun and games over for The New Day? Will we see a more aggressive side of The New Day Monday night, less than two weeks before their Raw Tag Team Title defense against Gallows & Anderson?
  5. Do you “Bo-Lieve in Bo”? With a new mantra that urges the WWE Universe to “Bo-Lieve in Bo,” will Dallas continue to prove to the rest of Team Red that he’s not to be taken lightly?

Here is the card thusfar announced for WWE Clash of Champions, Sunday night September 25, 2016.

WWE Universal Title
Kevin Owen (c) vs. Seth Rollins
