Here is a quick look at some highlights on the shelves this week. Just a few things to talk about, including several number 1’s, plus a healthy stack of new TPBs and HCs, so without further ado let’s dive in…

New This Week:

invincible-iron-man-1Invincible Iron Man #1 – Another soon-to-be classic from Brian Michael Bendis! Riri Williams is ready to take the streets (or skies?) of Chicago in her home-made Iron Man suit, but can she live up to the challenge?

Action Comics #967 – Glad to see we’ll be getting back to Super-Lex!

Batman / TMNT Adventures #1 – Batman of ‘The Animated Series’ universe meets the Nickelodeon’s current TMNT! I’m a big fan of B:TAS so I’m glad to get anything I can.

Black Panther: World of Wakanda #1 – A new expansion on the main BP title!

Casanova: Acedia #7 – “Things get a little weird.” Now they get weird? Ha.

mother-panic-1Mother Panic #1 – Young Animal’s new title! And just what Gotham needs, another traumatized youth exacting vengeance. Sounds a little like Batman meets Renato Jones? I’m in.

Violent Love #1 – I’ve been on the fence about this one since it was released in Previews, but it sounds like an interesting enough premise so I’m willing to give it a shot.

Other issues to look forward to:

  • Batgirl and The Birds of Prey #4 – Are we finally going to meet Oracle?
  • Betty & Veronica #2
  • The Fuse #23 – It’s all unfolding! This title is quickly becoming one of my favorite crime/mystery books.
  • Hal Jordan and The Green Lantern Corps #8

Collected Editions and OGNs:

DC/Dark Horse Presents: Justice League Vol. 01 TPB – Some great stories from some truly unexpected crossovers! Superman vs. Predator! Batman/Hellboy/Starman! Ghost/Batgirl!

Runaways Vol. 1 Pride & Joy TPB – The original reprinted in a new edition!

Who Killed Kurt Cobain? HC
