This week we report on and talk about a few names that you may or may not know.
Florence Henderson(aged 82) was an American actress and singer with a career spanning six decades. She is best remembered for her starring role as matriarch Carol Brady on the ABC sitcom The Brady Bunch from 1969 to 1974. Some of us watched the Brady Bunch after the heyday of the show. But there is no denying the staying power that the show had.
Ron Glass(aged 71) may not be as recognizable of an actor to some viewers, but he also has a large body of work. Mr. Glass was an American actor. He was known for his roles as literary Det. Ron Harris in the television sitcom Barney Miller(1975–1982), and as the spiritual Shepherd Derrial Book in the 2002 science fiction series Firefly and its sequel film Serenity. If you’re a Brown Coat, you’re mourning the loss of this man more than most.
We also talk about the passing of the former President of Cuba. Fidel Castro(aged 90) was a Cuban politician and revolutionary who governed the Republic of Cuba as Prime Minister from 1959 to 1976 and then as President from 1976 to 2008. Depending on your political views and interpretation of world history, Castro can be a polarizing figure. Some may have celebrated his passing, while others mourned him and remembered his accomplishments.
