Kurt Angle DVD: Essential Collection Coming This August!

News

It would be hard to argue that no one took to the sport of professional wrestling (or “sports entertainment” as WWE likes to call it) faster than Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle. The recent 2017 WWE Hall of Fame inductee and current General Manager of the promotion’s weekly flagship series Raw has been long overdue for an official WWE Home Video match compilation release. While there was 2000’s Kurt Angle – It’s True! It’s True VHS release it was only 60 minutes in length. What fans can expect is three discs of wall-to-wall Olympic Slam action plus an interview with the man himself.

Here is the official synopsis, courtesy of Wrestling DVD News.

It’s true! It’s true! Kurt Angle has had some of the most epic matchups in WWE history. Now for the first time ever, you can watch them all with Kurt Angle: The Essential Collection.

Relive all of his rivalries with Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, John Cena, Edge, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and more in this complete collection.

Some of Angle’s greatest matches occurred against WWE’s Lord Voldermort (Mr. Toothless Agression) but none of those will be included. But Angle was so versatile that he had several great matches during his WWE career.

Here are a few that I expect will make it to the compilation.

Kurt Angle vs. The Rock – No Mercy 2000
Angle wins his first WWE Championship.

Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon – King of the Ring 2001
Before Angle was a General Manager of Raw and McMahon, the Commissioner of SmackDown Live, the two had a brutal street fight match at the 2001 event. This was Angle’s third match of the evening and is best remembered for the belly-to-belly suplex he delivers to Shane-O-Mac through the King of the Ring Commemorative glass at the entrance way.

Kurt Angle vs. Edge – Judgment Day 2002
The hair vs. hair match that made the Angle we all know and love.

Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels – WrestleMania 21
The Olympic Gold Medalist squares off against Mr. WrestleMania in their first one-on-one match. Wrestling brilliance.

Kurt Angle vs. The Undertaker – No Way Out 2006
The Olympian vs. The Deadman in a match that went nearly 30 minutes as the Undertaker tries to win his fifth world championship.

Sound off in the comments section below on the matches you’d like to see on the Kurt Angle DVD!
