DC Comics Rebirth & The Button Finale Spoilers & Review: The Flash #22 Begins Justice Society / JSA Rebirth With Jay Garrick? Plus Doomsday Clock & The Watchmen, Doctor Manhattan Vs. Superman, Batman, etc.?

Spoilers, Top Story

The Button cross over between the pages of the Batman and the Flash did a lot of things to move DC Rebirth forward. Batman #21 teased Legion of Super-Heroes / LOSH Rebirth (spoilers here), The Flash #21 continues the tease of Justice Society / JSA Rebirth (spoilers here) while the Batman #22 resolved the Flashpoint timeline (spoilers here). The Button Part 4 finale is no less explosive.

DC Comics Rebirth and The Button Finale Spoilers and Review follow for The Flash #22.

In addition to the last 4 pages of the Flash #22 (spoilers here) setting up 2017’s The Watchmen / Doctor Manhattan vs. DC Rebirth / Superman in Doomsday Clock (spoilers here), we also finally get the kick off to Justice Society / JSA Rebirth!

As Reverse Flash is disintegrated by Doctor Manhattan of the Watchmen…

…Jay Garrick, the Golden Age Flash, escapes from his prison and…

…pushes Barry Allen, The Flash, and Bruce Wayne, Batman, back into the main DC Rebirth reality.

Jay Garrick remembers a time when he and Barry Allen, the Flash, were friends, but…

…before he can explain anything to the Flash and Batman, Doctor Manhattan strikes again!

What else does DC Comics have in store for readers for Justice Society / JSA Rebirth?

So…

Overall a compelling issue that really sets up other events in DC Comics Rebirth like more Justice Society / JSA Rebirth as well as Doctor Manhattan of the Watchmen vs. Superman of DC Rebirth in Doomsday Clock. That said, despite the 4-parts of The Button cross-over between Batman and the Flash feeling like action packed quick read, jumping from wholly different events each issue vs. feeling like a continuing story per se, I enjoyed the Flash #22 as well as the Button storyline. So, 8 out of 10.
