Welcome to the WWE NXT Rankings by Inside Pulse Wrestling.
In these rankings we take the top 10 contenders for the NXT Championship, and Top 5 for each the NXT Woman’s Championship, & NXT Tag Team Championship. In the rankings we take 3 major factors into account:
-Win/Loss over the past month
-Amount of TV Time dedicated to a particular character and/or storyline
-Logical storyline progression
A special note on NXT Rankings, any main roster superstar that appears on NXT is not considered a NXT Superstar, unless they are listed on WWE.com’s NXT roster page.
A new ranking report will be released after the first weekly NXT show after a Takeover event.
NXT Championship – Bobby Roode (since 01.28.17)
1. Roderick Strong
2. Drew McIntyre
3. Hideo Itami
4. Aleister Black
5. Kassius Ohno
6. Eric Young
7. Andrade “Cien” Almas
8. The Velveteen Dream
9. Oney Lorcan
10. Wesley Blake
Strong is the only other singles wrestler to pick up a win besides Roode at Takeover, and that puts him at the top. It seems like it’s only a matter of time until McIntyre gets his shot. Itami took the lost, and with such a long time until the next Takeover, I imagine he is going to fall back pretty far.
NXT Woman’s Championship – Asuka (since 04.01.16)
1. Nikki Cross
2. Ruby Riot
3. Peyton Royce
4. Billy Kay
5. Liv Morgan
Cross & Riot could really be 1A & 1B. With Ember Moon currently on the shelf, the title picture seems to be wide open.
NXT Tag Team Championship – Authors of Pain (since 01.28.17)
1. Heavy Machinery
3. Kassius Ohno & Roderick Strong
4. Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss
5. Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford
With #DIY dissolving, the Authors of Pain finally have a full grasp on the division. Otis & Tucker are the only ones that have had any significant TV time over the past few months, and, unless we get a big surprise, I would imagine they are in line for a shot at Takeover Brooklyn III.
The next NXT rankings are set for Thursday after Takeover: Brooklyn III in August.
