DC Comics Rebirth Spoilers & Review: Batman #27 Reveals Who The MVP Is In The War Of Jokes & Riddles Between Riddler Vs. Joker!

Spoilers, Top Story

DC Comics Rebirth Spoilers and Review follow for Batman #27.

The book focuses on a conflicted dad and/or reluctant crook named Mr. Brown. He’s approached by Batman and tells him that…

…he sought out Deadshot, Floyd Lawton, who has sided with the Riddler in the War of Jokes and Riddles; as this is set in the past this is the pre Suicide Squad Deadshot.

However, the contact info Brown had for Deadshot / Riddler was useless so he needs him to set up a meeting old school.

Now we get into the meet of the issue that DC didn’t reveal as a teaser in advance.

Riddler wants to meet with Brown and sends Clayface to pick him up; Clayface is on Team Riddler.

Riddler meets Brown and this new take on Riddler is scary.

A battle ensues with the crooks galore and the Joker pulls Brown from the middle of it.

And, Brown explains the convoluted and jumbled story that’s transpired in this issue so far.

It appears Joker has Brown bombed up in return for helping his son or getting revenge on…

…the Riddler who poisoned his son.

The boy is dying, it appears despite what Batman said.

Brown becomes the villain…

…Kite-Man and sides with the Joker in the War of Jokes and Riddles.

He has a college or university level background in wind andit was the Riddler who poisoned the kite string that afflicted Brown’s, now Kite-Man’s, son.

Kite-Man the MVP of Team Joker in the War of Jokes and Riddles? Must be since he gets his own story and arc it seems.

So…

An interesting story written by Tom King. 3/4 of the book was a confusing jumble, but the last few pages redeemed the story to an extent. The pencils of Clay Mann were the star of the book though. 6 out of 10.
