SDCC 2017 and DC Comics Rebirth Spoilers for Dark Nights Metal follows.
At the Friday press breakfast from DC Comics, at San Diego Comic Con 2017 (SDCC 2017), some interesting news slipped about about Dark Nights: Metal. Here are the highlights.
- The Justice League will have to gather enough Nth Metal to stop the Dark Multiverse invasion.
- Shazam will appear in Metal.
- [Writer Scott] Snyder said many clues to Metal could be found in his Batman run, particularly Court of Owls and Zero Year.
- Metal ties into Grant Morrison’s Batman and Geoff Johns’ Darkseid War.
- Snyder said he didn’t want to “co-opt” other books for Metal, so it will be self-contained in six issues with a series of tie-in one-shots that expand the story.
- Snyder said that the books where Metal does touch other books will be “organic,” but not essential to the core narrative.
- Snyder said there will be multiple Batcaves “each designed to destroy one of these characters,” and “different Batmobiles.”
- Snyder called the alternate Batmen of the Dark Multiverse Batman’s “worst nightmares.”
Also, a special black envelope was shared with press that was embargoed until 2 p.m. EST. And here it is!
