SDCC 2017 and Marvel Comics Legacy and Generations Spoilers follow.
During Marvel Comics’ “Next Big Thing” panel at San Diego Comic Con 2017 (SDCC 2017) a few notable bits of news slipped out. Here are the highlights.
- Marvel Comics EIC Axel Alonso says that cross-generational team-ups in the 10-part Generations will see young and old namesakes team up at Marvel’s new Vanishing Point which we’ve seen in Secret Empire; presumably where bearded Steve Rogers is.
- Over 30 characters and artifacts will return to Marvel for Legacy.
- X-Men writer Cullen Bunn noted that “A lot of the biggest moments in X-Men history will be playing out again but with these new characters.”
- X-Men Grand Design by Ed Psikor is a 6 issue mini-series look at each X-Men era where each issue chronicles a decade of X-Men history.
- Writer Donny Cates also noted that “Loki is the new sorcerer supreme… and that’s where the whole story begins. We find Stephen in the darkest place we’ve seen in a long time… It’s a story about how far he will go to set things right in his life, not just his sorcerer life but his personal life as well.”
