DC Comics Rebirth & Superman #31 Spoilers & Review: Deathstroke Replaces Darkseid & Apokolips In New Storyline With Lois Lane?

Spoilers, Top Story

DC Comics Rebirth and Superman #31 Spoilers and Review follow.

Superman #31 was originally solicited very differently with Darkseid’s Apokolips as I recall and then replaced, as was the next issue, with…

…a two part Deathstroke related arc.

The issue opens with Superman saving Lois Lane and her being relaxed, but angry about it before…

…Superman explains he wasn’t spying on her, but he gave her a device that would?

As Superman leaves, Lois Lane is confronted by Deathstroke who she wanted to interview.

An adventure of sorts ensues ending with Deathstroke asking Lois Lane if Superman loves her since he witnessed him save her.

She writes her Daily Planet story about what motivates Deathstroke and as she is off home, while speaking to Clark Kent on her mobile device…

…Deathstroke attacks and shoots her…

…clearly in an attempt to test his theory about Superman’s love of her.

So…

Despite being a Deathstroke and Superman fan, I hated this cliched story by James Bonny and the grainy art by Tyler Kirkham. 4 out of 10.
