Canadian rapper and musician the Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, announced during New York Comic Con 2017 (NYCC 2-17) that he was working on a new comic book series called Starbot with Marvel set for release in s218. ‘s secret project with Marvel has finally been revealed as he makes an appearance at New York Comic Con. The singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, transformed his Starboy persona into a comic book character for a new Starboy comic series, dropping in 2018.

The Weeknd released his Starboy titled album in 2016 and has indicated that his comic book series “Starboy is the next chapter in this chronicle, this saga. I guess this is the fourth chapter. He’s a character that we created. It’s so funny, we want to create a comic out of him, as well. … He’s a cool, dope character that makes appearances a lot on the album. He’s definitely made his appearance in different records in the past, as well. He’s a more braggadocious character that we all have inside of us.

No word from DC Comics who has had a Starboy of its own as part of the Legion of Super-Heroes (LOSH) since 1961’s Adventure Comics #282.
