DC Comics Rebirth & Justice League #31 Spoilers: The Secrets Of Old Man Aquaman’s & The Justice League’s Kids From The Future Revealed?!

Spoilers

DC Comics Rebirth and Justice League #31 Spoilers follow.

The kids of the Justice League have traveled to the past to eliminate a threat that destroyed the future and has them on the run.

A little reminder of who’s who for this futuristic Justice League Junior of JL offspring:

  • Jessica Cruz Green Lantern and Barry Allen Flash are parents to three of this future Justice League Next Generation team: Nora Allen, the speedster named Cruise, and seeming twins Jenny and Jason who didn’t inherit the Flash Barry Allen’s speed, but a connection to all of the lights of the emotional spectrum from their mom Green Lantern Jessica Cruz.
  • Hunter is Wonder Woman’s son, father is TBC, and he was cast out by her upon his birth because he wasn’t an Amazon so he was raised by Clark Kent Superman and Lois Lane.
  • Eldoris Curry is the daughter of Aquaman and Mera and is called “Dory” like the underwater movie about the animated fish from Disney.
  • Cyborg has a son named George Marvin Stone aka Cube and his mother is not revealed.

We learned from earlier issues that a grizzled old Aquaman has also traveled to the past…

…as has Sovereign who is really…

…Wonder Woman’s mother Hippolyta.

Onto this week’s issue then.

The darkness of the Kindred has consumed the Justice League…

…all of them. It is driving them to embrace the desire to kill.

That puts the Justice League’s children from the future in direct conflict with their parents as Superman maims the future Aquaman who, with Sovereign, are actualy on the kids’ side try to prevent their future from occurring.

Batman to the rescue with a device emitting red solar energy to weaken Superman so he can save him.

Older Aquaman finally explains what happened to the parents of the kids; they were consumed by the blackness.

Jenny and Jason, the kids of Flash Barry Allen and Green Lantern Jessica Cruz, channel the black light of death and white light of life to rebirth Simon Baz and purge the darkness from him.

Hippolyta tells Wonder Woman’s son Hunter how she sacrificed him for a better life and killed herself to get out the blacknesses clutches.

The twins now use the Indigo light of compassion to purge the blackness from everyone and collect it…

…leaving Old Man Aquaman and Old Woman Hippolyta / Sovereign to take it with them somewhere and possibly somewhen else via a Boom Tube.

The future kids say goodbye and head back to an uncertain future as…

…modern day Justice League contemplates…

…about the future.
