Marvel issued a statement to CBR on the news that Brian Michael Bendis was leaving the publisher for an exclusive deal with competitor DC Comics. The statement reads:
- Brian [Michael Bendis] is a great partner and has contributed incredible stories and characters to the Marvel Universe over the years. We appreciate his creativity and professionalism, and we wish him the best on his future projects.
Former Marvel EIC and current Marvel Chief Creative Officer also issued a statement concerning Bendis. At press time current Marvel EIC Axel Alonso and VP Tom Brevoort have yet to comment.
