Lex Luthor has been kidnapped by dissidents on Apokolips looking to fill a power vacuum left by Darkseid. Luthor in turn set machinations in motion that has Superman unwillingly go to Apokolips to save him joined by his wife Lois Lane and his son Superboy.

Superman mentions to Lex Luthor that S on his chest means something; Lex in turn says he knows its means hope that Superman is the real messiah for Apokolips.

Kalbibak, a son of Darkseid, disagrees.

Lex Luthor and Superman are prisoners of Kalibak as his henchmen use a chaos cannon to dig into Apokolips core in an attempt to find Darkseid.

Things go sideways as the core is unstable when penetrated. Lex is still unconsious so Kalibak was about to send Superman to the planet’s core when the Female Furies arrive with a purple garbed Lois Lane in tow.

Granny Goodness thinks Kalibak is crazy to dig to the core of the planet as even Darkseid can’t survive there. This leads to a civil war which allows Lois Lane to free Superman

As they battle, the chaos cannon reaches the Aokolips core and… extinguishes it?

The planet is now cold without its flames darting through the exposed pits on the surface. Granny Goodness is enraged. Lois Lane attacks Kalibak as…

…Superboy comes to the rescue having tamed some ginormous hounds of Apokolips.

Lots of action and adventure mixed in with choppy art and some nonsensical moments like Lois Lane attacking Kalibak. 6.5 out of 10.
