The Champions and Avengers cross-over Worlds Collide has its penultimate issue in Avengers #674. The book opens with the usual dramatis personae for such events with a summary of what’s occurred so far along with the due creative team credits.
Counter Earth and regular Earth on a collision course sent on this path by…
… the High Evolutionary.
He also made Viv Vision into a human being who happens to appear to be Hispanic. Viv is on a mission and finds a trapped being.
He too is a creation of the High Evolutionary, but made from the High Evolutionary’s DNA. He is chained in front of an instrument that could destroy Counter Earth at worst and at best stop it from colliding with Marvel’s regular Earth.
He agrees to let Viv pass and avert disaster, but then the Avengers attack complicating things!
During the battle, Viv Vision stops the worlds from colliding and…
…seemingly dies in the process…
…but not all is at it seems.
