DC Comics Extended Cinematic Universe 2019 Shazam Film Cast Grows With Captain Marvel Jr &and Shazam Family Casting!

Following the casting of Captain Marvel / Shazam and Billy Batson, plus news on where Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam will first appear, comes more Shazam news.

It has been confirmed that Captain Marvel Jr. has been cast for the upcoming Shazam film.

      It star Jack Dylan Grazer is graduating to the DC universe. 

      The actor has joined the cast of New Line’s Shazam!, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The film centers on a boy named Billy Batson who transforms into the adult superhero Captain Marvel by uttering the magic words “Shazam!” Grazer will play Batson’s best friend and confidant Freddy Freeman, the only person who knows Billy’s superhero secret. In the comics, Freddy eventually becomes a hero in his own right and adopts the identity of Captain Marvel Jr.

It has also been confirmed that The Shazam Family is also beginning to be cast.

      Fresh Off The Boat actor Ian Chen and Jovan Armand (Bella and the Bulldogs) have joined the cast of New Line’s David F. Sandberg-directed DC superhero film Shazam! The pic stars Zachary Levi as the title character, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, and Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman. Chen will play Eugene and Armand will play Pedro, friends of Billy’s from a group home.

The 2019 Shazam movie will be filmed in Toronto at the same studio where Star Trek Discovery is filmed at Pinewood Studios.
