Disc Announcements, News

Back in 2009, fans of the primetime soap opera were excited when the first episodes of Peyton Place arrived on DVD. But after two collections arrived, the episodes stopped. The boxsets sold well and fans wanted more. But somehow there was a snag. Now after almost a decade Peyton Place: Part Three is slated for March 27. The series had originally run on ABC back in the fall of 1964. Twice a week, it brought the adventure of a small New England town full of dark secrets to the country. Young stars Mia Farrow and Ryan O’Neal established themselves before they would go on to be movie stars in Rosemary’s Baby and Barry Lyndon. Here’s the press release from Shout! Factory about the next installment of torrid secrets:

PEYTON PLACE: PART THREE AVAILABLE ON DVD MARCH 27, 2018

Look past the innocent façade of small-town life and discover the shocking truth, when Peyton Place: Part Three comes to DVD on March 27.

A ratings sensation for ABC, Peyton Place – already a successful 1956 novel and 1957 film – made its way to network television in 1964. A prime-time soap opera whose influence can be seen in later beloved programs such as Dallas, Knots Landing, and Twin Peaks, Peyton Place examined the complex web of scandals, schemes, and sex in a New England town.

Featuring Dorothy Malone, Mia Farrow, and Ryan O’Neal, the long-awaited third volume of Peyton Place is finally available on DVD. Fans of the series will find this collection of episodes as deliciously addictive now as they were in their original airing.
