WWE Superstar Shake-Up 2018 For Monday Night Raw 04/16/18 & Smackdown Live 04/17/18 Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn Discussion Not Spoilers

Shows, Top Story

We’ve speculated on who is moving where in the Superstar Shake-up 2018 this week and we’ve had regular contributor Beadle weigh in; more here. Who do you think will end up on Raw and Smackdown Live? Who gets called up from NXT?

However, what is difficult to determine is where current former Smackdown Live MVPs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn land after losing to Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania 34. That loss meant that they stay fired from the blue show.

However, on last week’s Raw, Kurt Angle noted Raw had one spot open that KO and Zayn fought to a no decision. So their fates remain up in the air.

Kevin Owens is now one of WWE’s top 10 highest paid superstars so moving him to Raw would make sense as would finding a way to keep on Smackdown Live where a lot of stories and matches could be done with him.

The question is what to do with Sami Zayn in my opinion. One on hand, I don’t think he’s gotten the rub yet from being around KO. He is an entertaining heel and superb in-ring wrestler, but his gimmick makes no sense to me whether baby face or heel. So, I think he needs to be saddled with KO for longer and that has been a win-win for WWE since they have been the most entertaining part of Smackdown Live since Zayn’s heel turn. Does their stable grow or stay a duo?

If you keep them together, do you move them to Raw and have them vie for the Raw Tag Team Championship belts? KO doesn’t need the belt, but having one on Zayn helps him a lot and moreso the longer he teams with Owens.

I do see them appearing on Raw and/or Smackdown Live this week due to the shake-up. I’m just not sure where the end up and if they end up on the same show.

What say you?

The shake-up starts on Raw tomorrow and carries into Smackdown Live on Tuesday.
