After years of chasing the top prize, Kenny Omega finally defeated reigning champion Kazuchika Okada to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Dominion. Later it was announced that his first title defense will be against rival Cody Rhodes at the NJPW G1 Special at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on July 7th.
Also on the card, one of the greatest of all-time added another belt to his resume as Chris Jericho defeated Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. This is Jericho first IWGP IC title but his TENTH Intercontinental Championship win.
