Ant-Man and the Wasp

Welcome to the column where we talk about the latest Marvel Movie to hit the Screens this week.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is the 19th Film in The Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is the second film in the Ant-Man franchise after Ant-Man in 2015.

Ant-Man and the Wasp also has the distinction of being the first Marvel movie to be co-led by a female super-hero which is a much needed first in Marvel movies.

I am just gonna tell you what exactly I am excited about. I am excited about the fact that Wasp is coming on screen. She is a founding member of the Avengers in the comics and the fact that they took this much time to profile her better be worth it.

I am also happy to see Ant-Man on screen after he sat out Infinity War which really sucked, but this is a good enough reason. Then there is the fact that Janet Van Dyne is actually gonna come out of the quantum realm and that should lead to some amazing emotional moments with her daughter and husband.

I am also interested to see what she thinks of Scott taking over as Ant-Man and the new world she is coming back to with aliens and flying men and supposed gods. There is also the introduction of Goliath another Marvel superhero who has the same ability as giant man.

Want more? Oh yeah, it is gonna be great to see Luis back in action. TBH I really liked original Ant-Man movie because it had the humour in all the correct places and had a balanced tone. So, I am certain that Peyton Reed will make sure that he carries on the same tone again.

More than all that, I am waiting to see how this one will lead to Infinity War. But either way, it is gonna be another awesome Marvel movie with Ant-Man and the Wasp. I don’t think there is any more reasons required about why that is great.

The synopsis reads as follows:

Two years after the events of Captain America Civil War and before the events of Avengers Infinity War. Scott Lang , now under house arrest after the events of Civil War, tries to balance his home life as a father with his responsibilities as Ant-Man. When Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym present him with a new mission to bring to light secrets from their past, Lang teams up with Van Dyne as the new Wasp.

This also makes sure the film is set before Infinity War which is why the world is still fully there.

In theaters this Friday, Ant-Man and the Waspstars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, Randall Park and Walton Goggins.

Also make sure to stay for an incredible post credits scene which is said to tie into Infinity War and offer a possible glimpse of hope for 2019’s Infinity War II (official film name to be released).
