DC Comics Universe & Superman #1 Spoilers follows.

A New Home…

…A Tease Of The Future and…

…The Rebirth Of The Phantom Zone?!

This new era begins with Clark Kent at a quite home missing his wife Lois Lane and son Jon Kent aka Superboy. We then pivot to Clark Kent’s work life as a reporter at the Daily Planet where we realize Metropolis’ mysterious fire bug is still at work; Deputy Fire Chief Melody Moore thinks Superman is behind the fires from the end of the Man of Steel weekly mini-series last week.

We now pivot to the remnants of the old Fortress of Solitude in its frigid environment. It’s been destroyed so…

…Superman moves it to the Bermuda Triangle…

…presumably neighboring Amazon Island of Wonder Woman lore if the 1970s Wonder Woman TV series is to be believed.

DC even has a one page spread in its comics this week focussing this week on Superman’s new Fortress of Solitude Attitude.

We also get a tease of this things to come, the future, as Martian Manhunter tells Superman their will be a galactic conversation about establishing a galactic community; this does some like a political counterpoint to current U.S. President Donald Trump’s isolation policies and, on some matters, shunning established allies in the global community. Anyhow, Martian Manhunter thinks Superman should speak for Earth in those future galactic conversations.

Superman flies around Metropolis after his chat with the Martian Manhunter where we get a flashback to his father, Jor-El aka Mr. Oz, who is journeying the galaxy with Superman’s wife and son. Interesting that Jor-el calls Superman’s superhero costume baby clothes.

Superman also feels unsettled and realizes…

…all of Earth is in the Phantom Zone!

Big changes and even bigger stakes. A promising start.
